30 reps for time:
Your 2014 Regionals Team
Many of you participated in the Open this year. Each week individuals submitted their scores to the CrossFit Games website and were ranked worldwide as well as within their region.
Individuals who placed in the top 48 in their region earned an automatic spot to the Regionals that begin in one week. They could also decline their individual invitation and compete for their affiliate team. The top three scores from each affiliate for both men and women went toward an affiliate’s team score.
At the end of the 2014 Open season, Roots was in 6th place overall! But it gets better…
Individuals who finished in the top 48 who chose to accept an individual invitation cannot also contribute to a affiliate team’s score. So, those scores were erased from the leaderboard and at the end of the week, and when the dust had settled – Roots finished 2nd place overall in the Southwest Region!
This is all well and great, but…it’s just the Open.
The next big step is the Regionals. To earn a spot at the 2014 CrossFit Games, the Roots team will need to place in the top three spots.
They are training hard for this. If you see them at the shop, feel free to give them that extra reminder that they’re going to have to lay it all out in order to qualify for the Games. They want nothing more than to represent you and CrossFit Roots.
Next week, we’ll introduce you to the men and women that make up the 8-member team.
But first, check out the workouts they will tackle as a team!
What do you think of the workouts? Post to comments.
