U.S. Army Spc. Christopher D. Horton, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, died Sept. 9, 2011, in Zurmat District, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small-arms fire. The 26-year-old was assigned to 1st Battalion, 279 Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma National Guard. Horton is survived by his wife, Jane; parents David and Cherie; brother, Nicholas; sister, Tenley; and many other friends and family.

It’s the 3rd installment of our Cool Cruel Summer series and we thought we would switch things up a bit by throwing out a partner WOD, Horton. Coordinate with another Roots member or come and try out the individual option. We’ll have lots of scaling options for those who are still working on bar muscle-ups as well as for those who would rather not be a part of a buddy carry.
Nicole will be your Warmup Coach so check-in with her after you and your partner sign-up for a heat at the front desk. Yellowbelly will continue taking food orders until noon today so if you haven’t already, sign-up for your food and then settle-up with Stef at the shop. Come workout and/or cheer others on, and then stick around for some gluten-free fried chicken and maybe even a game of Paleo Pong! Summer is nearly over so come out and throw-down while you can.
