I am so proud of the 140 Roots members who participated in The Open this year! This year’s Open provided us with a renewed understanding of and appreciation for the basics. In an upcoming post, we’ll talk about how we plan to learn and improve on things like handstand walking, handstand positioning, and double under proficiency in the next year so we’re ready for 2019 – because, let’s face it – handstand walking is totally coming back next year!
While for many of us, the 5-week competition is over, a few Roots athletes have earned a spot to move on to the next round of competition.
For our Master’s athletes, they had to place in the Top 200 worldwide to qualify for the Master’s Online Qualifier round. The qualifier takes place the weekend of April 19-21 and our athletes will do the workouts at Roots as part of an online competition. For Camille, she will move on to the Regional Qualifier in Salt Lake City, Utah the weekend of May 18-20 where the top five women will move onto the 2019 CrossFit Games.

Alice has finished in the Top 200 every year she has competed in The Open – since 2013! Now that’s impressive!
