Connor comes to us from Texas where has worked at NorBeau CrossFit for the past four years coaching group classes and working 1-on-1 with clients. Connor has extensive experience working with adaptive athletes and in the area of 1-on-1 nutrition coaching. He is also a fierce CrossFit competitor qualifying as an individual at the regional level in 2017. We are thrilled by the expertise and insight Connor will bring to our team of coaches.

How many years have you been CrossFitting?
Just over 4 years, I started in May of 2014.
Where were you born and raised?
What’s your life story in four sentences?
After playing a year of college baseball in my home state of Texas, I joined the United States Coast Guard, serving a few years in Alaska, and one year in Michigan. I fell in love with CrossFit while living in Michigan, and took up coaching in August of 2014 in my hometown. For the last 4

Not married, no kids – but I do have a 3-year-old white lab, Mikko!
What was your first CrossFit workout?
Filthy 50 – I think.

What did you do for your career before coming on at Roots?
What is your favorite CrossFit story?
Seeing my mom get her first double under after YEARS of practice (not an exaggeration). In Open workout 17.5, she spent an entire 40 minutes attempting to get a double under in front of our “Friday Night Lights” crowd and got zero. Instead of quitting, she used it as motivation – over the weekend we practiced nonstop at her house until she finally got one on Sunday. Monday she redid the workout and got over 50 double
When did you start coaching? What sport?
I started coaching in 2014, CrossFit.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to help an athlete perform or move better?
Have somebody close their eyes while doing GHD sit-ups.
What do you do for fun outside of CrossFit?
I enjoy hunting, fishing, cooking, hanging out with my dog, sports, concerts, and I’m up for just about anything (as long as it doesn’t involve snakes).
