November 2025 Newsletter: Chad1000x, Winter Hoodies, & More!

Dear Roots Crew, 

The rest of 2025 is packed — from Chad 1000x to new gear, happy hours, and holiday parties.

This time of year is where the rubber meets the road. Can you accelerate into 2026, taking consistent training and solid nutrition along with you? With three different holidays upon us, varied schedules, and lots of holiday cheer, it’s easy to see how things could slide.

This is where I always get to at Thanksgiving – an incredible moment of gratitude and thankfulness that this is not our reality at Roots. We have a solid community of athletes who show up, put in the work, and help each other stay focused when the world around us gets lax.

So lean in, gear up, and write down what you want to stay true to for your health and fitness this November and December. Maybe it’s committing to training four days per week through December, maybe it’s meal-prepping your lunches, or maybe you get together with a group of Roots friends to hold each other accountable for your November and December efforts.

The goal is to pick one or two things to keep you in the game this holiday season. You got this.

UPCOMING EVENTS AT CROSSFIT ROOTS

Chad 1000x

Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 11 in all group classes as we honor Chad’s life and bring awareness to suicide prevention. Roots will donate $5 to The Step Up Foundation on behalf of every athlete who completes the workout at Roots.

What’s the Workout?

Teens: The High School program will run a modified schedule on Tuesday. Class will move from 6:00-7:00pm.


November Chalk Talk: Relative Intensity

CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity. Take out any ONE of those three elements from your training protocol, and you will land on a program that is less effective and doesn’t deliver the results possible for the time and effort put in.

But intensity is relative. It’s relative to the individual’s physical and psychological tolerances. It’s not a “intensity over everything mentality,” but it’s also not a “show up and mail it in” mentality either. Whether you just tipped over the 50-year mark, are 20 and want to get jacked, or are a 40-something woman and everyone is telling you that gentle exercise is the only way to go to make it through something called peri-menopause – this talk is for YOU.

Battle Royale in Castle Rock

Several Roots athletes are competing at this year’s Battle Royale in Castle Rock on Sunday, November 9. Mark your calendars and come cheer them on!

When and where: CrossFit Castle Rock, 8am-5:30pm – multiple heats and times TBD


Thanksgiving Happy Hour

Don’t miss out on this annual Roots tradition! Join the coaches for Thanksgiving Happy Hour! We’re thankful for you!

When: Friday, Nov. 14th (NOT Thanksgiving Eve this year…)

Time: 4:30-6pm

MEAL PREP: Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili

Oftentimes, we forget that nutrition really boils down to making the right choices consistently over the long haul. A simple step in that process is meal prepping, as it eliminates the last-minute decision, spur-of-the-moment eating out, which derails our efforts.

Looking for a super amazing, easy-to-make, and delicious staple for this fall? Look no further than this instant favorite that’s loved by many Roots members.

Pro Tip: Once you’ve made the recipe, line five Tupperware containers on your counter and scoop out one serving into each container. Add some roasted potatoes to the bottom if you’re feeling it. Voila! Grab and go lunch ready for the week!
