She’s Here!

Quincy Catherine Baltz was born at 9:29pm on February 29th, 2012.  A big congratulations to Stephanie and Nathan and their little Leap Year baby!

As many of you are very aware of, Stephanie CrossFitted through her entire pregnancy, but her CrossFit career started a few years back.  Stephanie and Nathan were CrossFit Roots’ fourth and fifth members and they began their foundations course in the garage just a few months after their wedding!  It’s been a wonderful privilege to have you both as part of the founding Roots community of athletes and we are so very excited for the months and years in store for you.

Stephanie’s sense of humor, energy, and go with the flow attitude made for some very fun and entertaining moments over the past ten months!  Stephanie, thanks for allowing Roots to take part in the journey.  We are so very very happy for you and Nathan!

Wow, what a beauty, congratulations to you both!  Stephanie, you are an inspiration. I really appreciate your calm and intense approach to the WOD. I was lucky enough to do some lifting with you, probably about a week before Quincy arrived.  I wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you at the gym soon!  Alice

Congratulations Stephanie and Nathan! I second Alice’s comment. You and Tracy both were true inspirations working out all the way through your pregnancies.  I can’t wait to meet Quincy!

Thanks, everyone!  You all were so encouraging that it was hard not to keep showing up for WODs.  We are really looking forward to bringing her to Roots so she can see all the commotion up close and personal…

Funny enough (I’m not sure if I should admit this), but she was born to the Lady Gaga Pandora station, which brought many a WOD to mind.  We needed some higher energy for the final push and, thankfully, it worked…!

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
