July Newsletter: Carbs, CrossFit, and Cruel Cool Summer

As we dive into the thick of summer, I am so pumped to share with you all of the great things happening at Roots – Holiday workout events, member clinics, nutrition talks, and the CrossFit Weightlifting Course.

Whether you want to learn the butterfly pull-up, row like a pro, understand carbohydrates in relation to CrossFit nutrition, or learn Olympic weightlifting from the best in the world – we got you covered!

And, in the spirit of standing by what we teach, reinforce, and believe in, we bring to you our summer 2022 men’s and women’s t-shirts…

Keep fighting the good fight!

DEPTH OVER FRIENDS

Grab Your Shirt Before They’re Gone!

New shirts! We ordered a limited amount of Depth Over Friends shirts for purchase at the shop! They’ll be available around July 8th and can be purchased using the retail iPad at the Front Desk.

Why the shirt?

We are the home for fitness misfits – those who believe in the CrossFit methodology, hard work, dedication, responsibility, and the power of community. We turn our heads to gimmicks, quick fixes, and fancy facades. These are the ties that bind.

And this is our shirt.

NUTRITION RESOURCES

Most people start CrossFit to address the exercise component of their fitness but overlook the vital role nutrition plays in long term health and performance. The fact is, nutrition is as important, if not more important (gasp!) than your workout. Dialing in your nutrition will drive your results in the gym and in turn, your health, performance, and longevity.

1. InBody Scans – Knowing where you’re starting from and if and how the methods you are utilizing are moving your data points in the right direction is the same as knowing your back squat and learning if it’s getting better. Single scans are $35 or grab a 12-month unlimited pass for $105 (member rate).

2. Macronutrient Calculations – Many athletes under or over eat certain macronutrients and once they start consuming the appropriate amounts, their performance in the gym improves which leads to a variety of benefits. We’ll calculate your macros (protein, carbs, and fat), help you set up tracking to monitor and adjust your daily intake, and share resources to make it simple. Roots members can access this service for $100.

3. Nutrition Chalk Talks – Keep an eye out for this monthly touchpoint and feel free to invite your friends and family. Free for members and guests.

Contact [email protected] to schedule your InBody Scan and/or inquire about Macro Calculations and Nutrition Chalk Talks.
