Did you know your CrossFit Roots membership includes access to Specialty classes? It does!
In addition to the CrossFit W.O.D. (workout of the day), we offer Engine, Strongman, and Olympic Weightlifting, Strength, and more. Anyone with a club membership can reserve a spot in these classes.
Never been to a specialty class? Here’s what you can expect:
Engine – Are workouts hard because you’re not strong enough or because you can’t breathe? If it’s the latter, come to this class. It’s a 45-minute lung burner that will build your capacity over time. Engine classes are Thursday at 5:45am.
Strongman – This class is 60-minutes and focused on moving odd objects. Think sandbag carries, yoke carries, sled drags, sled pushes, etc. Strongman is held on Friday at 1:30.
Olympic Weightlifting – This class is 60-minutes and focused on the clean & jerk and the snatch. It’s not always about maxing out, it’s about technique and form to help you learn the positions and build strength when these lifts show up in the workout of the day. This class is held on Tuesday at 6:30am or 5:30pm and Thursdays at 6:30am. The workout for Tuesday and Thursday is the same so you would come to one class, not both.
Strength – This class is 60-minutes and focused on strength in movements like back squat, deadlift, bench press, etc. The programming runs on a 12 week cycle, focused on one movement for 12 weeks with testing throughout. It is ideal if you can attend each class or do the work in between each class if you’re not able to make it. This class is held Monday at 6:00pm and Thursday at 12:30pm. The workout for Monday and Thursday is the same so you would come to one class per week, not both.
