CrossFit Open WOD 12.2
It’s here! We’ll be doing the Open WOD 12.2 in all group classes today as well as tonight at…
THE 2nd THURSDAY NIGHT THROWDOWN!
Thursday Night Throwdowns:
Thursday Night Throwdowns will take the place of all regularly scheduled group WOD classes (4, 5, 6pm) for the five week Open season. Thursday Night Throwdowns are from 4:30-6:30pm. Sign-up is still REQUIRED for this class. Sign-up on MBO.
Notes: Athletes can come in and warm-up anytime AFTER 4:15pm and put themselves in a heat. You can show up anytime between 4:15 and 6:30 to do the workout. The last heat will start at 6:20.
You will do the workout in a heat with other athletes. You will have a judge and a scorecard. The judges will have you sign off on your score. Scorecards will not leave the shop and will be placed in a file folder. Athletes ARE REQUIRED to submit their own scores on the CrossFit Open website PRIOR to 5pm mountain standard time on Sundays.
Scaling and modifications:
For the second Open workout, there are no scaling or modifications. The loading starts very light.
Score submission:
All athletes must submit their own scores on the CrossFit Open website. We will validate scores by the deadline (Sunday, 5pm MST) checking them against the score sheets collected on Thursdays. Again, it is YOUR responsibility to put your score in for validation. We will have a computer at the shop for this purpose.
Open WOD Retests:
If athletes are unable to make it to class tomorrow, they will need to visit another area affiliate for this week as there is no open shop. CrossFit Roots is hosting the Coaches Prep Course over the weekend and will not have Open Shop.
We recommend athletes visit affiliates around the Boulder/Denver area on Friday or Saturday if they are interested in doing the workout a second time.
Post questions to comments.
Nicole,
If we don’t make it today and can’t make up the workout are we “out” ?
That might have been a dumb question….just wondering if I can still come next Thursday night if I don’t do today’s workout.
Lori – If you don’t post a score on games.crossfit.com, you cannot post scores for later workouts. You have to post at least 1 rep to keep “alive” for the next round.
Yeah… I didn’t know this until I saw Tracy do her 1 rep burpee to stay in last week. – And now that I have a pulled thigh / groin… looks like I will be coming in tonight to one-rep this one so I can continue to participate…
Did everyone see that Roots won a largest team prize for the region? Verve, Tuscon, and then Roots. http://games.crossfit.com/article/largest-teams
I like to play “Where’s Davis?” a la “Where’s Waldo?” every morning when I load the Roots blog.
But that hat is too warm to wear all the time!
Yikes. Does this mean that since i put “zero” in for the last work out my continuing in the Open is a waste of time! That’s too bad.
