Cool Cruel Summer Starts Next Thursday – Sign-up for Wings!

The Cool Cruel Summer Series Starts on THURSDAY, MAY 31ST!  READ ALL THE DETAILS IN THIS POST SO YOU DON’T MISS OUT ON THE FUN!

How to Order Wings:
Order your wings and/or salad combo TODAY through THIS Friday.  Mark your order on the order form at the front desk and put your check or cash in the envelope attached to the order form.  You must pay for your order in advance!

What is the Cool Cruel Summer Series?
This summer, from the months of May though August, join us at the shop on the last Thursday of each month for the benchmark series, wings and salad, drinks, socializing, and fun under the summer sun.

What’s with the workouts in the series?
It’s a series of four CrossFit benchmark workouts that span the many different aspects of CrossFit including everything from strength to gymnastics movements, short to long time domains, to AMRAPs and for time workouts.  The programming for these four workouts will no doubt be broad, general, and inclusive.

Why should I do the series?
Do the series for fun and to set new PRs or join in for the points series edition where we’ll keep track of performances to crown the Cool Cruel Summer winners at the end of the four months.

How do I do it?
Just sign-up for the class on MBO.  Similar to The Open, you’ll show up anytime between 4 and 6:30, put yourself in a heat, and do the workout with your fellow Roots Crew.   Afterward, join in the socializing and fun.

What if I’ve only been doing this CF thing for a few months?
PERFECT!  Come do a workout, meet folks, and hang out.

If I can’t make the workout can I come hangout?  
Totally.

What will the workout be?
The workout will be posted at 4pm on Thursday on the whiteboard, at the shop.

Will this also be the workout of the day at CrossFit Roots for the earlier group classes?
No.

What is the points series?

We simply keep track of your scores throughout the four weeks and then crown a winner based on who performed the best across the four workouts.  Sign-up is required for this option, although it does not cost any money.  Sign-up here.

What’s the Deal with the Food?
And what summer series would be complete without wings, wine, and maybe some PaleoPong?  Order your wings the week before!  Bring your own drinks!  We’ll have the PaleoPong table in full swing.

What’s with the PaleoPong?

    just had a thought this morning… i have very fond memories of “Karen” from one of my first workouts at Roots during Ladies Night back in 2010!  Can we have another Ladies Night??  pretty please??!! 🙂  

  2. I PR’d last night AND Landis told me that all of his hard work getting my squat in order is finally starting to pay off. Which, when I think about it, MIGHT be more exciting than a back squat PR!
