What is the Cool Cruel Summer Series?:
Back for the second annual summer events series, from the months of May though August, join us at the shop on the last Thursday of each month for a benchmark workout, wings and salad, drinks, socializing, and fun under the summer sun.
What’s with the workouts in the series?:
It’s a series of four CrossFit benchmark workouts that span the many different aspects of CrossFit including everything from strength to gymnastics movements, short to long time domains, to AMRAPs and for time workouts. The programming for these four workouts will no doubt be broad, general, and inclusive.
How do I do it?
Sign-up for the class on MBO. Similar to The Open, you’ll show up anytime between 4 and 6:30, put yourself in a heat on the whiteboard, and do the workout with your fellow Roots Crew. Please note, the heat you sign-up for upon arrival is the START TIME for your workout. You must warm-up prior to your heat start time. Afterward, join in the socializing and fun. Last heat begins at 6:30pm.
How do I order food?:
As part of the series, we will have dinner delivered to the shop from a few different local vendors over the four weeks. Orders must be placed two days in advance of the event (we’ll always post reminders on the blog). Mark your order on the order form at the front desk and put your check or cash in the envelope attached to the order form. You must pay for your order in advance!
Why should I do the series?:
Do the series for fun, to set new PRs, have fun with the crew at Roots, meet new folks, and find out what you’re capable of. As always, we will scale as needed.
What if I’ve only been doing this CrossFit thing for a few months?
PERFECT! Come do a workout, meet folks, and hang out.
If I can’t make the workout can I come hangout?
Totally.
What will the workout be?
The workout will be posted the morning of each Cool Cruel Summer event.
Will this also be the workout of the day at CrossFit Roots for the earlier group classes?
No.
What’s the deal with the food?
What summer series would be complete without wings, wine, and maybe some PaleoPong? Order your food the week before! Bring your own drinks! We’ll have the PaleoPong table in full swing.
