Shoulder press 3-3-3-3-3thenFor time:50 overhead squats with your 3 rep max shoulder press weight Roots Power Hour Fridays at 5pm No, it’s not as fun as Happy Hour…all the time, but you’ll be done just in time to catch the tail end of it.  Roots Power Hour applies CrossFit methodologies with a bias towards the more powerful movements such as power cleans, box jumps, snatches, anything that requires explosive power.  Why, you ask?  Because it’s fun, duh! Seriously though, HQ wods can go either way (short and heavy, long and light) and sometimes we can get too caught up in the “long sexy metcons”.  There’s nothing wrong with the pursuit of endurance but remember that our big picture goal is to be really damn good at EVERYTHING.  Where are your weaknesses?  Is another go at Cindy really going to improve your OVERALL fitness OR could you use more time working towards...

For time:Run 800 meters Clean and Jerk, 30 reps Run 800 meters South West Regionals The South West Regionals start tomorrow and your very own Zac and Nicole are headed off to compete. Zac will be competing on the CrossFit Verve team with five other individuals.  He’s no newbie to CrossFit competition and we expect to see him lead the Verve team. Nicole will be competing in the individual competition.  She finished 6th last year and is ready to get to it. Visit here for live updates and scores beginning Friday! 21-15-9 reps for time of:315 pound Deadlift30″ Box jump Benchmark Series Kicks Off This Thursday! We kick off the benchmark series this Thursday from 5-7 with a classic – Angie.  Remember the Benchmark Series is a month-long Thursday night event for athletes to come in and throw down on the shop-selected Benchmark Workouts.  So, make it a date night, bring the family to watch and hangout, or just sneak away for an extra workout. Athletes can come in from 5-7pm and put themselves into a heat.  We will run heats of athletes through the workout similar to the Open but a little more low key.  This is a great way to up the adrenaline jut a tad and have some fun this summer.  Please remember to sign-up on MBO.
