Does your crockpot have a permanent home on your countertop? Do you walk through Target’s aisle of crockpots on display and think, “maybe it’s time to upgrade?” or “should I have two?” Or do you hear a coworker talk up their chili and think, “whatever, mine is waaaaay better?”
Then get your crockpot ready and enter the CrossFit Roots Paleo Crocktoberfest on Sunday, October 27th at 4pm! It’s your chance to be named “Roots Ultimate Crocktologist.” By doing so, you’ll follow in the footsteps of the great Crocktologists of past years and join the ranks of Wendy Ball (2011 winner) and Mary Alice Ashar (2012 winner).
To enter a dish and be eligible for the title of “Roots Ultimate Crocktologist” sign up on MBO HERE (there is no fee to enter but you must register as entry spots are limited!). There are entree, crocktail/beverage, and dessert categories. Doors open at 4. Judging commences at 4pm sharp.
Bring your family and bring your appetite, the entries are sure to be taste sensations.

The Nitty Gritty:
To be eligible for the title all entries must meet the following guidelines.
1) Entries must be cooked in the Crock-Pot. Ingredients can be browned or seared prior to going in the pot but must be cooked in the pot.
2) All ingredients must be paleo (no grains, no dairy, no legumes). Paleo gray area including, maple, honey, agave, and alcohol can be included but must be disclosed. If you are unsure, ask. We will be happy to approve recipes.
3) All entries must be on the table by the start of judging.
4) Scoring will be out of a possible 50 possible points. 1-30 for taste, 1-15 for creativity/originality, and 1-5 for presentation.
