PRESS RELEASE:
BOULDER, Colo.—April 19, 2016—Never has an opportunity to raise money for a good cause been so tasty. A recent partnership between the owners of Roadhouse Boulder Depot, located in the historic Boulder Train Depot, and the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance (BMA) allows Boulder Depot customers to help raise as much as $50,000 for BMA in 2016, just by ordering a burger and adult beverage.
“Mountain biking directly aligns with our ongoing initiative to promote mental and physical wellness and engages us in youth programs. BMA is a steward for the sport and leader in all things mountain biking in the Boulder-area,” said John Shipp, co-owner of Roadhouse Hospitality Group, Boulder Depot’s ownership group. “We’re proud to offer this opportunity to raise funds for BMA both through our burger special and through the matching elements of this program. In the end, we hope to help make mountain biking in Boulder even better than it already is, one burger and beer at a time.”
The details are straightforward: go to Roadhouse Boulder Depot and order the special BMA Burger. The BMA Burger is made with Colorado hormone-free beef, bacon-onion apple jam, applewood bacon, Brie, arugula and is served on a brioche bun. For every BMA burger ordered, $1 will go to its namesake organization. Order a “bike wine”, Bicicleta Organic Varietals, or “bike beer”, Sanitas Brewing Saison, along with your burger and another $1 will go to BMA. At the end of the meal, a guest will have earned $2 for BMA.
There’s more: Roadhouse Hospitality Group (RHG), which owns 14 restaurants throughout the Front Range and mountain resorts, will match whatever is raised through the burger and beverage program, up to $25,000. The goal for 2016 is to raise a total of $50,000 for BMA through this program.
“Partnering with Roadhouse Boulder Depot and Roadhouse Hospitality Group is exciting for us,” said Steve Watts, Executive Director of BMA. “They have a great track record of community involvement and making a big impact when they get involved with nonprofit organizations like us. In the mountains, they’ve created similar partnerships with organizations like The Cycle Effect and on a state level with their sponsorship of the Colorado Cycling League.”
The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance’s mission is to serve as a positive voice for mountain biking in Boulder County by improving the trail experience for all users through social rides and events, advocacy, and trail building. The funds raised through this partnership with Roadhouse Boulder Depot will go towards building trails, lobbying and activism for Boulder’s thriving mountain biking community.
Boulder Depot and BMA will be tracking progress toward the fundraising goal on each of the organizations’ websites and social media as well as in the restaurant.
“I’m personally challenging every mountain biker or trail enthusiast to come check out Boulder Depot, try the BMA burger and wash it down with a beer or wine. Repeat as necessary,” Watts said with a smile. “In all seriousness, if you’re looking for a way to support your community, this is an enjoyable and easy way to do it. Boulder Depot’s atmosphere and patio make it the perfect place to meet before or after a ride.”
The BMA burger will be on Roadhouse Boulder Depot menus starting April 24, 2016.
