The Gymnastics Clinic is back and this time we’re going to focus on the rings! Gymnastics rings training builds incredible upper body strength, and increases our agility, balance, coordination and accuracy like no other single piece of equipment. In CrossFit, they’re known for ring dips and muscle-ups mostly, but they’re capable of so much more!
In the Gymnastics Ring Clinic we’ll start with the basics and progress week to week to harder progressions or more skilled movements, so there is no pre-requisite strength or skill. All that is required are two working arms, a willingness to suck and a desire to get better. Once we have a few movements in our toolbox we can begin integrating them together, ultimately working towards a flow. In the process you’ll build upper-body strength and body awareness that will carry-over to all other movements you do throughout the day, including WODs, and it’s fun, because who doesn’t appreciate a good party trick? As icing on the cake, and due to the variety of different directions the rings can stress our shoulders you may even notice an improvement in your overall shoulder health.
