Summer Sports!

Hey folks!  Ian shot me an email about the Boulder summer sports leagues he’s involved with.  Check out the details below:

I’m playing in a Co-Ed Summer Kickball & Volleyball League and our team needs more female players but would love to have more players in general. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to meet a lot of really great people! I play once a week on Sunday evenings (Kickball) usually around 6:00pm and Thursdays at 7:00pm (Volleyball). However there are a bunch of other sports/days people can play.

If you’re interested you can sign up online at http://boulderssc.com or call Bret (The League Director) at 303-442-TEAM (8326) and don’t forget to ask to be on my team (Ian Cofrin).

What events, activities, or leagues are you doing this summer?  Post to comments.

  1. TYD

Track (velodrome) bicycle racing!   This has been my summer sport since 26-June-2005.  As far as competitive endeavors go, nothing gets me going like track racing does.

Racing is Tuesday and Thursday evenings, at the 7-11 Olympic Training Center velodrome in Colorado Springs.  http://www.csvelodrome.org

  2. Paul

Boulder rowing club.   Psyched to get back on the water.    I tried the velodrome scene last year and man, that’s a nutty sport TYD.   You have to be 100% committed and alert at ALL times or certain doom is right there to take you down.

  3. I am finally returning to Adventure Racing with my team, nuun. (dartadventure.com)…starting training this season about 6 months late!

Most likely four or five 24-48hr races on the west coast, and one fall expedition race of 4-6 days.

It’s been a strange 6 months fixing my torn up shoulder and ankle. Lifetime best strength in both now…

If anyone is interested in learning more about adventure racing, I can connect you with some resources… to find teammates close to you…the best race schedule is http://www.checkpointtracker.com for the north american championship series.

best source of  links for training info is probably my blog clancymultisport.blogspot.com  The race videos on New Zealands’s  Sportzhub.com are pretty motivating…

Also if anyone else is frequently running laps of sanitas or Green/Bear/SoBo etc., paddling kayaks  or riding local trails let’s meet up. More the merrier.
