“No wonder 68 percent of Americans are overweight. No wonder that from 1960 to today obesity rates have risen from 13 percent to 36 percent and soon will reach 42 percent. Over the last decade the rate of pre-diabetes or diabetes in teenagers has risen from 9 percent to 23 percent.”
Thanks to G’Pa Mojo for passing along this article! He even took the time to pull some quotes he like and they are pasted below. This was a great read! Thanks for sharing.
The Last Diet You Will Ever Need.
Great article! Thanks. My fav quote, ”
Transforming the food industry seems monumental, a gigantic undertaking. But it is not. It is a small problem. In the small places in our lives, our shopping carts, the fridge, the cupboard, the kitchen and on our dining room table is where all the power is.”
I like that quote a lot! It’s so true. You don’t have to be a revolutionary leader to make a difference here. Just don’t settle for the garbage that grocery stores try to sell you and make smarter conscious decisions about the food that goes into your body. When your friends and family begin noticing the changes within you they will start asking how they can do it too.
Here’s a depressing counterpoint full of so many awful quotes I don’t even know where to start: http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/story/2012-06-07/coke-q-and-a-coca-cola-mayor-bloomberg/55453016/1
More f-bombs please. I am also unable to talk about the USDA without using foul language.
