Did the Open last year? If so, did you have any kind of PR’s or try anything new?:
Last year in the open I got my first muscle up! I went into 15.3 thinking that it was just going to be 14 minutes of muscle up fails, but I got one on the very first try…and then failed the rest, but I was absolutely the happiest girl in the world that day. I also improved by 38 reps in 15.2 from the previous year.
Are you doing it this year? Why?:
Yes! I know I have grown a lot this past year, and the open is a way for me to measure it. It’s also a fun time to spend with friends and meet new people. I hope my dad will come suffer through a workout with me at altitude.
Anything you would like to add?:
In 2014 I wasn’t going to participate in the open because I was fairly new, but I signed up last minute and I’m so glad I did. That year I didn’t have chest-to-bar pull-ups or double-unders, but I managed to crank out a hand full of them because of the supportive crowd around me. I hope this encourages a few more people to sign up this year!
