Build up to a heavy power clean for the day.

Stef, Matt, and Gator sprint up the stairs because they love running so much. Who's hiding behind Stef? Can anyone identify?

WOD 1.0 Monday and Tuesdays Starting Next Week

Read below for details on the revamped WOD 1.0 class that hits the schedule Monday AND Tuesdays at 5pm starting this coming week.

We got a lot of great feedback about Ali’s start-up of the WOD 1.0 class.  Below are details on the next iteration of this class.

The WOD 1.0 class was designed for folks who are looking for a great transition from Foundations to group class, those who have been CrossFitting for 6 months or less, those coming back after a period away from CrossFit, or those who are looking for a class that does CrossFit in its purest sense.  The class strays from the regular group WOD programming to focus on workouts and skill sessions that refine and develop the 9 Foundational Movements and basic bodyweight movements in a still high intensity, but lower overall volume, set-up.  The class mimics the regular WOD class in terms of structure (warm-up, skill/practice, workout, warmdown) and commits daily practice to a designated monthly skill.

Come join Ali and Nicole on Monday to check it out!

  1. No idea who that is, but I do have a great story about functional fitness in real life.  I was sitting at a 4-way stop today and the motorcycle in front me stalled-out when he attempted to go and ended up falling over on it’s side.  The rider dismounted in time enough to not get trapped under his bike but his bike ended up on it’s side laying in the middle of the traffic lane of which I was next in line.
He rushed over to pick up his bike, gave it a pull off the ground and immediately dropped it and quickly grabbed his back in pain as he staggered back away from his bike.  I put my car in park as the 20 cars behind me were honking and growing impatient, clearly clueless as to what was going on in front of me.  I asked him if he was okay and through his groans and moans he said his back just “locked-up”.  Bummer.
I walked over to the bike and picked it up.  He stood there repeatedly thanking me and then hobbled his way back over to the bike.  I had to hold it up for him as he re-mounted the bike (picture a 90yr old woman with arthritis in her hips, but he looked to be in his 30s).  I didn’t have a card on me or I would have definitely recommended he come look into CrossFit.
