CrossFit for Hope is July 6th!
Every December we take submissions from the Roots Crew of athletes for the selection of our in-house annual fundraiser. Athletes then vote for the fundraising effort we will support in the following year. In 2012 it was Barbells for Boobs. For 2013, the Roots Crew voted to support the CrossFit for Hope fundraiser benefittng the St. Jude Children’s Hospital among other organizations that work to cure catastrophic children’s illnesses.
On Saturday, July 6th join the entire CrossFit community in honor of a great cause. Affiliates all over the world will come together and do the “Hope” workout in their affiliates to raise money for the cause.
Start your cause now by registering for the event here. Roots will post additional details on the event in the coming weeks including heat information and food and drink.
Check out the workout here:
“Hope”
Three rounds of:
Burpees
75 pound Power snatch
Box jump, 24″ box
75 pound Thruster
Chest to bar Pull-ups
“Hope” has the same format as Fight Gone Bad. In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of “rotate,” the athlete/s must move to next station immediately for good score. One point is given for each rep.
