Masters Event 1 For time: 8 deadlifts 40 GHD sit-ups 80 double-unders 4 rope climbs 80 wall-ball shots 4 rope climbs 80 double-unders 40 GHD sit-ups 8 deadlifts We’re approaching that time of year where the weather starts to cool down, the leaves turn colors, and horn-shaped baskets placed strategically on our dining tables are filled with mutant shaped gourds. That’s right, fall is just around the corner and we are gearing up to celebrate with The 2016 Harvest Hoedown at CrossFit Roots! Come out for a fun filled day while throwing down in teams of 2 on a variety of challenging events. Teams will consists of 1 male and 1 female athlete. They will be required to work together to complete 3-4 events after which we will crown the fittest duo. Run 400m then, 21-15-9 Ring push-ups DB squat cleans (45/30) then,  row 500m On Saturday, skydiver Luke Aikins jumped from a plane – without a parachute – and landed in a 100×100 foot net. Beyond the fact that this is an incredible, and crazy, feat, we kept asking – What in the world compels someone to want to pursue this, or any other, goal? Especially when many people might think the idea is crazy, too hard, or too weird to figure out.   What goals have you pursued in your life? And did the people around you think you were totally crazy?

Today’s workout is at the Elks Pool. in teams of 3 alternating, complete: 20min AMRAP swim 25m (breast stroke) 10 poolside dips 10 pistols swim 25m (freestyle) Like the title says, there are no noodles at this pool. Come ready to apply your fitness to the water and have fun doing it! When you arrive at the pool, please check-in with the pool staff at the front desk. Tell them you are there with Roots and they will let you in. We have reserved lanes for this workout. If you plan to stay at the pool after the workout, you will need to pay the admission fee after the workout is over. See you in the sun!

The park workout is at North Boulder Park. Meet at the southwest corner of the park (the usual spot). Shop Workout (7am) Row 5x1000m Park Workout (9am) As a team of 4, complete 5 rounds: bear crawl shuttle 50m broad jump shuttle 50m sled sprint (45/25) 50m We’re giving you multiple options to get outside this weekend, as if you needed more. Today you get a choice between the shop workout at 7am, and yes it’s rowing intervals. Who couldn’t use some work on their rowing technique? Your other option is the park workout at 9am at North Boulder Park. Sure, you can do both! Tomorrow we’re headed to the Elks Pool for some sweet pool WOD action. Get tan and swole with Roots this weekend!
