School’s out, the heat is on, and that can mean only one thing – the return of the Cool, Cruel Summer Series at Roots! What is the Cool Cruel Summer Series? The Cool Cruel Summer Series runs throughout the summer on the third Thursday of each month (June-August). This year, we’re completing CrossFit.com Hero workouts and you won’t want to miss them. Afterward, stay to hang out, socialize, and enjoy summer. It’s a fun twist on a normal evening at Roots! There is no formal class start time and the evening runs from 4-7pm. The coaches will organize waves of athletes to start together as well as guide warm-up and scaling options, as always. Athletes can come in and do the workout anytime between 4:00 and 7:00pm (with the last wave starting at 6:20pm). This is a fun, laid-back event that puts the summer fun into an evening at Roots. Three weeks, three teams, only one winner. Welcome to the official Roots Intramural Open Week 3 Score Report, where we bring you all of the highlights from the weeks and announce the the 2022 Roots Intramural Open champions! The Roots Intramural Open has been epic. Each team showed up to win, and we discovered some real fit, creative, and talented athletes. 1,899. That is the total number of workouts logged in SugarWOD during the 2022 Intramural Open. The classes were consistently full throughout the three weeks as teams fought for attendance points. During the team challenges, one team lead every week. Team “We Blue It” took home the win for the Judges Course, corn hole, one-pot paleo cook-off, AND the diorama challenges.
