Games Recap – Holy Athleticism!

The Rocky Mountain Regional CrossFit Games took place this past Saturday and Sunday.  The display of athleticism was incredible.  The enthusiasm and camaraderie of the athletes and spectators at the games was hands down inspriational.  Congratulations to all of the competitors that represented the Boulder area, including athletes from Flatirons CrossFit, Boulder CrossFit, and The Garage4150.  Way to represent Boulder!  Congratulations to Jasmine Dever of Front Range CrossFit and Matt Chan of CrossFit Verve who won the women’s and men’s regional titles respectively.  Results here.

Eric and I hosted the folks from Bridger CrossFit.  We’re pretty sure our hospitality and laundry-room-turned-to-a-bedroom set-up were a major factor in Jenna qualifying for the games. Congratulations Jenna!  As a thank you, Bridger CrossFit gave Eric and I (our first two) medicine balls for our garage.  We are overwhelmed by the gift; thank you guys.  We will curse, I mean, think of you guys, in every WOD that involves med balls.

Thank you Skip, Jodi, and your crew at Front Range CrossFit for hosting the event.  We are aware of how much time and effort went into preparing for the games as well as training the judges. We admire your commitment to making this a well-judged event.  Thanks to everyone who took on the job of judging at the Games.

And last, but definitely not least, a huge thanks to Molly, Emily, Lindsey, and Ann who came to cheer equipped with handmade signs and paleo treats.  As I was struggling out of the bottom of a front squat I looked up to see a big sign that said “Go Nicole, Do It.”  You guys are amazing and you’re competing next year, so get ready.

Hey!  A great way to prepare would be to compete in the Colorado CrossFit Games at Front Range CrossFit the weekend of September 12-13. Mark you calendars!
