You may have noticed something missing at the end of 2016 – the daily blog post. Believe it or not, CrossFit Roots has posted everyday for 2,670 days. That’s a lot of posting (divide that number by 365 and it comes out to almost 7.5 years!).
In the beginning we did this to inform our athletes of the workout of the day, communicate events and information, and chat and discuss about relevant topics in the CrossFit, health, and nutrition worlds.
But that was so 2009, and a lot has changed in the internet, blog, and social media worlds. Now, you can get information in many different ways – through apps, social media, newsfeeds, and more. So while we may be a little late to the party in making these changes – we’re ready to take the plunge. More importantly, we feel we now have all of the pieces in place to make it benefit your world!
Beginning in 2017 (today) we want to let you know about some exciting updates and changes coming to the structure of the blog, how we communicate information, and of course, answer the most important question – “where do I find the workout?”
The Blog
What used to say Workout of the Day at the top of our homepage, now reads The Blog. The Blog will now feature twice weekly posts with content relative to CrossFit, Roots, upcoming events, athletes, and health and fitness in general. Be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed so that you get the blog posts delivered to your email. This way you’ll stay up to date on everything going on at the shop and you won’t have to remember to check the blog.
Check out the top of the sidebar on this page, enter your email, and start getting the posts delivered to your inbox. One person even told us that having the blog post delivered to her email was, “the best thing that ever happened to (her).” We’re not kidding.
The Workout
The workout of the day will now be published to SugarWOD at 7pm, starting this evening, for the following day’s workout. You can access this information via your SugarWOD app, or from our homepage by clicking the WOD circular icon in the bottom righthand corner.
You have the option on SugarWOD to get a notification when the workout is published. Simply go into the app, click the Settings icon in the upper righthand column and select your notification preferences.
Next up on the blog, the 2017 Benchmark Series!
