December 2015
Don’t walk like this. This is lunging.

It’s Day 11 already!  We’ve addressed our nutrition, sleep and workouts over the past 10 days and today we’re going to change gears a bit and address our mental health.
Day 11 (to be completed January 12th)
Go for a walk – find 15 minutes to fit it in. This could be during your lunch break, when you get home, or after your workout.
Now, because all of you are CrossFitters you’re probably going, “welll this isn’t going to be hard”, and that’s fine.  “Hard” was never the idea.
Making time to go for a walk gives priority to giving your mind a rest from the normal humdrum of everyday life.  Of course you can negate that if you just think about all the stuff you have to do when you’re done walking, so don’t.  Just walk.  Take in your beautiful surroundings, smell the clean mountain air, hear the wind blowing through the trees or the birds chirping, feel the contact your feet make with the ground.  Put away your phone, put away the millions of dramas that you’ve created for yourself, and just enjoy being here, now.
Need more convincing that walking is good for you?  Check out these articles and let us know how it goes in comments.

Walk at Dry Creek with the dog and walk in neighborhood with my other little dog. I walk every day, at least twice, and I really enjoy slowing down and using my walk for reflection and alone time (other than with my pups, who generally don’t talk back :))

Nice day for a walk. Sorry Shane, although I would love to come to your shoulder seminar, I have school on Tues and Thurs nights this semester, so can’t make it.

I walked the dog the tonight and thought about this final day 12 challenge.
Is this right for me? Do I care?
No. I don’t believe in planning my future like that. Sorry.
Therefore, I am not completing the final challenge.
    It was fun. I’m done.

Walked with the pup. I enjoyed thinking about it as something for me rather than the dog. Thsnks Shane for the shift in perspective.
