Now that you have your workout schedule planned for the next week it’s time to think about everyone’s favorite topic: food!

Day 5 (to be completed January 6th)
Today you’re being tasked with eating a Paleo salad – no grains, dairy, legumes, or sugar.  This can be for lunch, dinner, or any meal in-between.  To help you out I’ve included a link below to one of my favorites.  If you make it once you’ll be making the dressing and putting it on everything!

If you’re out and about looking for a salad, Mod Market has some really good ones (and they give you a breakdown of the macro-nutrients, if you care) and Fresh Thymes (located just behind the shop) does as well.

If you find something delicious leave us a comment and share the wealth!

For those with a sharp eye (you know who you are), no Oak Old Fashion with the Oak kale salad. Sadly. But awesome meal!

Power breakfast: sprouted quinoa with flax seeds, hemp hearts, chia seeds, banana, peach, mango, strawberry, pineapple. Add cinnamon, coconut oil, and agave nectar to taste. All after a Vega protein shake of course.

Breakfast “salad” – peach, mango, apple, almond milk, lime juice, hemp protein, and loads of frozen kale. We stick bags of TJ’s fresh organic kale directly in the freezer. Great for smoothies or sauteing.

Here is my paleo salad for lunch today based on what I had in the kitchen: used the almond dressing from nom nom paleo and had lettuce from last nights leftovers. Poached two eggs bc I didn’t have chicken and shredded a carrot. Pretty yummy!

I had a warm paleo salad for dinner: broccoli, mushrooms, onions and grass fed and finished beef sausage

Paleo salad for dinner all week. I call it my “naked burger salad”: ground beef, romaine, onion, tomato, mushroom, zucchini, roasted butternut squash and eggplant, some olive….and the best dressing–the Middle Eastern dressing from the Well Fed cookbook.

Hanger steak with tangy tomato relish, ‘best brussels’ from the Zenbelly cookbook and a baby romaine salad with dried cranberries, raw pumpkin seeds, carrots and Tessemae’s green goddess dressing.

Cooking just wasn’t going to happen for us tonight, so we did take-out from ModMarket: greens, chicken, apple, red onion, sweet potato, and dates. Added avocado and dressed with olive oil at home.

I made a typical dinner. Spinach and kale greens, tomatoes, scallions, mushrooms, radishes, carrots and my protein was ground beef made a variety of spices. I make a fresh dressing each night of red salt, ground pepper , balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil

Done. Strangest salad I ever made spaghetti squash, breakfast sausage, beets, cherry tomatoes, sweet potatoe and almonds. Basically I used almost everything we had in the fridge and I was super hungry! Still sugar free!

Made my same old boring Paleo salad, but always enjoy it and it’s what I had time for. Arugula, beets n balsamic. I’m def adding those ingredients for NomNoms salad to my shopping list. Thanks for the inspiration.

My salad was limited to what we already had in the fridge -roasted brussel sprouts and carrots tossed in lemon juice, olive oil, dijon mustard and fresh parsley. Not bad!

Mexican salad for dinner. Mixed greens, chicken with spices, salsa, avocado and some toasted cashews. Delic.
