CrossFit  is “constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity.”

This fitness methodology challenges beginners through to the world’s most elite athletes. The commitment and need to scale and adapt workouts for any and everyone makes it a suitable and successful program for every individual – regardless of experience or ability.

This makes it particularly beneficial for adaptive athletes.

At CrossFit Roots, every workout at the gym is different and unique, just like every athlete we coach.

Adaptive Athlete Class

Our Adaptive Athlete class welcomes individuals with permanent disabilities or severe temporary injuries.

Our goals for this class are straightforward – to enable impaired individuals to become more efficient with the fundamentals of functional movement.

Who Can Attend This Class?

This class is open to individuals with every type of physical disability (neurological damage, sensory impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, amputation, limb salvage, etc.) with or without mobility aids (wheelchairs*, etc.).

All of our workouts and movements can be adapted to fit any scenario. The class is designed to safely push your current physical boundaries.

Our main goal is to help you get to the next level of athletic ability, whatever that may be –  from better balance, increasing strength/stamina, regaining the ability to do tasks independent of assistance, decreasing fatigue, improving cognitive function, to more advanced movements like weightlifting and gymnastics and everything in between.

When Does the Class Meet?

The Adaptive Athlete Class is offered at CrossFit Roots on Fridays at 2:00pm.
