Many individuals were surprised to learn that the main soda ingredient was sugar, and a lot of sugar. Can you guess how many packets of sugar went into an 8 ounce cup of soda? 4 rounds for time of: 115-lb. overhead squats, 20 reps 30-inch box jumps, 20 reps Last weekend was the 2016 Colorado State Championship for weightlifting. Three Roots lifters competed on Saturday and made a great showing! Scott Graham won 1st place in the Masters 94kg weight class with a 79 kg snatch and a 94 kg clean and jerk. Scott made competition personal bests in both lifts! This was Scott’s first competition in awhile and he looked awesome! Coach Ryan Landis won 1st place in the Masters 105kg division with a 111kg snatch and a 132kg clean and jerk. Ryan also qualified for Masters World Championships with these lifts. This is the second year in a row that Ryan has qualified for Worlds and won his division at state! Don’t Forget! Frozen Dead Guy Coffin Race Tryouts are TONIGHT at 5:30pm Deficit deadlift 3-3-3-3-3 reps  Stand on extra plates so that your grip on the barbell is lower than in your normal setup. The Open is upon us. See below for a rundown of the four different options you have to get in your workout and record your score. There are four different ways that you can get in your CrossFit Open workout. Each is a little different but all allow you to do the workout and submit your score by Monday at 5pm! Tomorrow at 5:30PM is the Frozen Dead Guy Days COFFIN RACE tryouts at Roots. We are putting together a 6-person team. We also need one rider (person in an open coffin). Come dressed to impress and ready to workout! Tryouts will be a fun, interesting, and exciting series of events to determine who is best suited to dress in costume, race around Nederland, and jump over obstacles.
