Hey Roots Crew,We learned a few weeks ago that Gretchen Rech – longtime Roots member, athletic badass, Mom, 5:30 am class devotee, and all around awesome human – will undergo surgery next week to remove a large cancerous tumor in her leg.The surgery is major and Gretchen will have a long road to recovery. She will be in the hospital for 5 days and off her feet for 6-8 weeks. Many of you have already asked what can be done to support her and her family during the next few monthsHere are two ways you can contribute:Write Her a Note!Gretchen would love to hear from you. Starting Monday, August 13th, we will have a box on the front desk to collect cards for Gretchen. Mark your calendars! You’re invited to Roots’ 9 Year Anniversary Party and Shop Festival on Saturday, September 22nd from 11am – 2pm! This year, we’re throwing down CrossFit-style at the shop and will feature rolling heats of Roots’ anniversary workout, The Chief. Beginning Monday, August 13th we will expand Open Shop Hours to include 11:30am – 1:30pm each day. We are excited to offer this added gym time and hope you will use it to get in skill and practice work or make up a workout that you missed. For reference please do note that the additional Open Shop hours overlap with 1-3 group classes that are going on simultaneously during these times. Group classes (including specialty classes, closed programs, and kids/teens classes) will always take the priority for gym space and equipment. If you’re not sure if there is space to do something, please be sure to ask a coach in advance of starting your workout.  The foundation and design of our program at Roots has always been coaching.
