Paleo 2.0 Blood Work Before and After
Prior to the Paleo challenge we suggested that athletes may want to get their blood work done before and after the challenge to have an additional indicator from their Paleo efforts. Bones did just that. Below are his before and after results cut and copied from an email he sent to us. In short, WOW.
Nicole,
Just FYI, I got my follow up blood tests back. Here’s how it went, with every one of the lipid tests improving significantly:
Pre-paleo cholestrol = 167 (reference range is 140 – 200, with lower better)
Post-paleo cholesterol = 144, a decrease of approx. 14%
Pre triglycerides = 61 (reference range is 40 – 150, with lower better)
Post triglycerides = 50, a decrease of approx. 18%
Pre HDL = 45 (reference range is 40 – 65, with higher better)
Post HDL = 55, an increase of approx. 22%
Pre LDL = 110 (reference range is 70 – 100, with lower better)
Post LDL = 79, a decrease of approx. 28%
Just thought you might be interested.
What up! I find the results amazing! Super impressive. Bones, big kuddos to you for staying Paleo through the 5 weeks. Lots to show for it.
Data is cool. In this case, Bones has REAL stats on just how much better his body is responding. This, of course, in addition, to obvious performance gains. I’m convinced… to collect these data points myself should another Paleo challenge come around. Great work man!
Oh, so that is Bones’ last name.
