CF Whiteboard is HERE
We are so very excited and proud to introduce a new online tool to log your workouts and track your progress. Why are we proud? Because our very own Roots athletes Collin and Faye developed the tool!
CF Whiteboard is an online workout tracking system that is integrated into our CrossFit Roots website. It attaches a mini whiteboard to each workout post, so athletes can add their entry after each workout. The system works just like the whiteboard at the shop, except it doesn’t get erased every three days! The workouts you log into CF Whiteboard can be recalled at any time by searching the Roots website for that workout. Super simple!
This tool is designed to be simple and easy to use. By recording your time and any scaling or modification, you have an accurate picture of your workout for comparison the next time you do it.
Try it out today!
How to add your entry for a workout:
1. Open the whiteboard by clicking the WHITEBOARD button attached to the workout post.
2. Add your entry by clicking the [+] button at the top right of the whiteboard.
3. You don’t need to create an account. We’ll use your email address to identify your entries. Be sure to use the same email address. As the tool develops, you’ll be able to go back and pull your workouts with your email!
4. Enter your name, result, and modifications the same way it was recorded on the whiteboard after class.
5. Click SUBMIT and your entry will appear in the list.
6. You can click any entry in the list to view more details.
7. To close the Whiteboard, click the WHITEBOARD button again.

Very cool Collin and Faye! Can we enter previous months’/ years’ results like in Beyond the Whiteboard? Or does this new tool only work for workouts starting today and forward?
Hey Molly – Thanks for the feedback! The tool is integrated next to every past & future workout listed on crossfitroots.com. You can search past workouts and add your results.
If you want to move some data over from Beyond the Whiteboard, email Collin at [email protected] and we’ll help you do a mass upload into CF Whiteboard.
This is awesome! Nice work you two. Now, you have NO EXCUSE to not log your workouts!
Wow! – coolest and simplest whiteboard app EVER! – Collin and Faye, you guys rock! – Love it!
You’re too kind!!! Thank you.
Sweet!! Can’t wait to try it. Thanks guys!
Brilliant and awesome! Seems like that widget would fit very nicely inside an iPhone? Hope that is on your radar
That might not be a complete accident 🙂 we should talk if you have any ideas about an app
Thanks for all the great feedback! We do have some stuff on our radar, but we love hearing your ideas. Nothing better than real athlete feedback, good or bad, to help us improve. This is our first version so there’s plenty of room to grow!
Is it going to keep track of all my PRs/1RMs gleaned from all the workout history like BTW does?
For right now we’ve made some sacrifices in order to keep the interface as easy as possible, but we’re trying to decide on the best solution for something like that. There wouldn’t be any reason to log your workouts if you couldn’t get some good data out of it! I’ll get back to you when we’re closer to building that feature and see if you like what we came up with.
It would be great in the future to be able to add information from Strength and Oly. Very great.
Hmm… good idea! We’ll have to think about how we can work that in. Ryan might have to start posting his workouts though! No more making them up at the last minute… kidding 🙂
Should the gadget have a scroll bar? I see 24 entries on the button, but can’t scroll to see them.
If you hover your mouse over the text and use the scroll function of your mouse, the names will move with it. There is just no physical scroll bar to click and move. Let me know if you have more questions or feedback!
Awesome & easy to use. Definitely would value some way to quickly view comparisons over time. When iPhone app comes out, might think about ditching my almost brand spanky new CF Roots logbook, though I really DO like the physicality of it 🙂
