  1. Heck yeah. When I first came to the shop I had zero mobility or upper body strength due to a couple shoulder surgerys. I had legs, but that was about it. Three years later I’m flying through kipping pull-ups, etc and playing harder than ever thanks to CF. Big ups to the Roots Crew for helping us to come back into the selves we were meant to be.

I got choked up as well. I think the best line was “the last person to finish gets cheered like a hero.” It’s so true. No matter where you’re at in your Crossfit journey, whether you’re squatting 50lbs or 250lbs, you have a room full of people screaming for you, pulling you up out of the depths of that squat. There’s no better feeling.

  3. “The last guy or the last gal through the door is cheered like a hero.” That got me. That is one thing I have always loved about Crossfit, especially Roots- I have never felt embarrassed or upset about finishing a workout last and all the other athletes’ support feels amazing. I remember during my first couple months at Roots when we did Karen. I was so far behind the other athletes but it was really motivating to have others that already finished the workout join me for my last 20 when I felt like I couldn’t do it. It was really cool.

  4. I love the community focus in this video. When I mention Crossfit to people, most seem to think it’s only about being ‘extreme’… in a negative sense. This video could help increase awareness of Crossfit being about community and healthy achievement. I’m all about that.

    Great video!
I love the camaraderie at Crossfit Roots! It reminded me of this last Thursday morning, because I was the last person to finish. “Helen” was my 2nd Rx workout, ever! It took me a very long time to get through it, but having my fellow crossfitters cheering me on was amazing! I am so grateful…

Cross Fit has changed my life as well as my husband’s. Tom is a 2 year cancer survivor and after much persuading he decided to give Cross Fit and the Paleo diet a try this spring. He is a firm believer now and just had his annual physical. His doctor was so impressed with his numbers and increased fitness and said “Keep doing what you are doing because its working”. We are both on a road to better lives as we enter our 50’s as a result of Cross Fit. WE LOVE IT!
