Roots Athlete Earns Boulder County Employee of the Month!

20 Thrusters
20 Sumo-Deadlift High Pulls
20 Push Jerks
20 Overhead Squats
20 Front Squats

95/65 for all exercises. Begin with 4 burpees.  Then go to work to complete the list above BUT you must continue to knock out 4 burpees on the minute until your work is complete.  That’s right, if you’re on the 19th rep of push jerks and the minute clock beeps, you drop your bar, complete four burpees, and then go get your last push jerk. Fun!

Thanks Jennifer for sending this our way and congratulations Nisha!

Boulder County Employee of the Month is our very own Nisha Alden!  Congrats Nisha!

“Nisha Alden was picked as February’s Employee of the Month. She has worked for Boulder County for over two years in Public Health.  Nisha has accomplished so much over the past year.  Beginning in March 2009, she fulfilled the position of “Acting Division Manager” for the Public Health Communicable Disease Division. In June 2009, Nisha was promoted to Division Manager. This was a period of extreme transition for the entire division. While adjusting to her new role, Nisha hired three new coordinators, a new epidemiologist, and new immunization program staff. She also graduated from the Boulder County Leadership Academy in 2009.  Nisha and her staff were in charge of the massive deployment of H1N1 vaccine throughout the County, distribution of items from the Strategic National Stockpile, and keeping Boulder County residents apprised of the frequently changing situation.  Under Nisha’s direction BCPH has received praise from local and state partners for the seamless integration of Public H1N1 clinics at our local health departments, while also providing local doctors the vaccine to meet the needs of their clients. Nisha has done a great job of collaborating with many internal and external agencies.  She was nominated for her ability to remain calm and forward thinking and for always showing her staff that she appreciates them. Great job Nisha!”
