A methodical approach involving past numbers and desired goals can help structure a workout to enable the best outcome possible.  My routine for prepping for a lift is this: During the general warm-up in class, I will decide on the number I want to hit. I’ll then assign that number to the second to last lift in the sets and then calculate backwards in increments of 5s, 10s, or 15s depending on the lift. Big Sexy 5 rounds for time of: 6 deadlifts, 315 lb. 6 burpees 5 cleans, 225 lb. 5 chest-to-bar pull-ups 4 thrusters, 155 lb. 4 muscle-ups  Sgt. Lance “Big Sexy” McLean, 38, of Biloxi, Mississippi, died on June 29, 2013, from a gunshot wound he sustained in the line of duty on June 28, 2013. Prior to his death, McLean served as a Sergeant with the Sheriff’s Office, and as a member of the SWAT Team in Hood County, Texas.  He is survived by his wife, Katy; and two children, Abigail and Quinton. This Friday night we celebrate the conclusion of the five weeks of the 2016 CrossFit Open and welcome in SPRING! Please join us at the Boulder Roadhouse Depot at 6pm for drinks, food, celebration, and fun. Whether you participated in The Open or not, we hope you can join us for this fun social event!

Then look no further than the Roots Roadhouse Run that kicks off THIS Thursday evening at Roots! Every Thursday night at 5:30PM Roots will host a weekly fun run at 5:30pm. The run will offer a variety of distances from 2-6 miles. After the run is complete, the Roadhouse Boulder Depot will host a happy hour complete with (free) beers! This run is open to members, friends, family and anyone looking for a good time! Come run, eat, drink and be social!
